Meet The Users
Jake is a busy data analyst new to the outdoors who needs a way to learn about outdoor recreation products and connect with local community because his work hours make it challenging to visit the store.
Bethany is a journalist who is experienced in the outdoors. She needs to make sure her local camping store will have required items in stock before she visits, and hopes to continue to share her knowledge and love of the outdoors with her daughter.
User Research: Pain Points
Work schedules don’t always align with store hours, so there needs to be a way to view and purchase products at a user’s convenience.
Challenging Schedule
Lack Of Community
Outdoor enthusiasts often have different goals when it comes to using e-commerce. Apps that treat the user solely as a traditional shopper fall short of harnessing their brand’s full potential.
Choosing from a variety of products for yourself and others can feel overwhelming. Clear descriptions with variety that is easy to navigate is necessary.
Overwhelmed By Choice
Products can quickly vanish at the start of a season. Arriving in store to discover this wastes time and provides a barrier to the outdoors.
Sold Out Products
The Problem
Outdoors lovers often only enjoy browsing and purchasing gear to the extent that it can increase their enjoyment of the outdoors.
The Goal
Create integration into an outdoor supply e-commerce app that bridges the gap between product and experience.
